LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST EPISODE:

Today on the show we have Allison Hardy. Allison helps mompreneurs create 6-figure businesses on their terms through a hearty dose of automation, strategic email funnels to sell their products/services, and leveraging authentic social media interactions through Facebook Groups to become the go-to expert in their niche. She is the creator of The 6-Figure Mompreneur Podcast, a Huffington Post Contributor, has been featured in YFS Magazine, and was named one of Washington, D.C.'s most influential professionals under 40 by Washington Life Magazine.

I really enjoyed my conversation with Allison. Like myself, she’s a mother of two small children and has structured her business around the life she wants for herself and her family. We got into the nitty gritty of how she transitioned from working 16 hour days in her first year of business to now only working during her 16 month old daughter’s naptime, all while scaling her business to multiple 6-figures per year. Allison is completely transparent with what worked, what didn’t, and what she would have done differently while building her business.

Listen to my interview with Allison to learn:

  • What Allison’s first year in business looked like

  • The importance of systems and automations in your business

  • Why you should start building your email list sooner than later

  • The advice Allison would give her younger self before embarking on this entrepreneurial journey

Allison has also gifted 3-Day Workweek listeners her Clients on Autopilot training series, a 4-part video training series that will help you create and automate a lead generation strategy that is predictable and scalable. Visit https://bit.ly/clientsonautopilot to grab your free gift!

As you listen to this week’s episode, Allison and I would love to hear your takeaways. Post a screenshot of this episode to your Instagram Stories and tag me (@Cailen_Ascher) and Allison (@allison_hardy_) -- I’ll be reposting and featuring you on my social media channels!

5 Ways to Value Your Time More! 👍

The 3-Day Workweek Podcast with Cailen Ascher - 2019-08-14 - You're the CEO of Your Life with Kelly Roach.jpg

LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST EPISODE:

The #1 thing I credit my success to is valuing my time.

Ok, did you catch that?

It’s worth repeating so it really sinks in: The #1 thing I credit my success to is valuing my time.

I know I would not be where I am today with a 6-figure business working just 3 days a week if I didn’t truly understand and honor the value of time.

Sure we’ve all heard people say “time is precious” or “you should value your time more” but how do we actually do it?

Here’s what I’ve come to discover, valuing your time is a MINDSET issue above all else.

It’s not about being more efficient or productive or finding the right app or planner.

Valuing your time starts in your head.

If you are currently in a place where you’re giving your time away for free or very little, you need to start repatterning how you think about your time before you’ll ever see an external shift of more dollars flowing into your business.

So, that is why I am here today with my 5 favorite ways to value your time more. These have served me and my clients very well -- I know that they can work for you, too.

#1 - Talk about time differently.

Many of us spend all day long reinforcing that “we don’t have enough time” or “time flies” or “I never have time for myself” or “I never have time to work on my business”. Guess what -- if you walk around all day with those thoughts in your head or speaking those thoughts out loud, you’ll keep creating more of the same.

Try this one on instead, “I always have enough time for all of my priorities.” Basically what we’re saying to ourselves here is that we make time for what is important to us, and then we can start evaluating what those items are.

#2 - Rethink your priorities.

If you’re in the habit of saying yes to everything that is thrown at you and putting other people’s needs ahead of your own, you’re basically saying your time is worth nothing. Time is a limited, precious resource, and if we keep giving it away, we’re never going to be able to harness its power and potential to draw in more abundance into our lives.

Make a list of your priorities. Your REAL priorities. Not the ones your partner or mom or kids put on your list. The ones that YOU want to be on your list. If you are not currently making time for them, it’s time to shift things. If you were to look at a typical day for you right now, what would it say about what you value and prioritize? What do you do first thing in the morning -- meditate or check emails? What do you do after the kids go to school -- feed yourself a healthy breakfast and work on your business or the laundry? What you do on a daily basis is planting seeds for who you are becoming -- what are your current choices saying?

#3 - Give yourself a raise.

Your time is valuable and precious and limited. Don’t undercharge for it. Give yourself a raise! If you are working with clients for pennies, you’re doing both yourself and them a disservice.

Clients show up to the level which they invest in themselves. If you are undercharging, oftentimes clients will not prioritize their work with you in the same way they would if they paid a premium.

Now, this doesn’t mean jack-up your prices for no reason, this means wrap your head around the idea that your time is valuable and worth paying for. And, in demonstrating that to your clients, you’ll help them do the same for themselves.

#4 - Envision the future you.

Envision yourself in 3 years. What does your life look like? What is going on with your business? What do you make time for? What do you no longer give your time away to?

Channel her whenever you’re feeling conflicted about a time-related issue like…

A client wants to move her session to Saturday morning (and you don’t want to work weekends).

Your kid’s teacher asks you to organize a fundraiser.

Your best friend asks you to pick up her kids from school when you already have a consult call booked.

Ask yourself, how would future me respond to these requests?

#5 - Create an “I’m Worth It!” list

If you’re having trouble feeling the value of your time, especially as it relates to your business, creating an “I’m Worth It!” list is very useful and fun! Write down all the degrees, trainings, certifications, investments and coaching that you’ve put into becoming the person you are today.

You are totally worth it! You are worth making time for yourself, you are worth charging more, you are worth putting feel-good boundaries around your time.

I hope that these 5 Ways to Value Your Time More are useful to you! I would love to know what resonated with you the most. Please share your top takeaway with me in The 3-Day Workweek Facebook Group -- I’d love to connect with you there

P.S. I’m running a special this week where you can get 3 months of access to Success Made Simple Academy™ for a one-time payment $149. If you’re new in business and ready to make your first $10K, this is the place to get the support you need to make that happen! Click here to enroll now.

This week I sat down with business coach Kelly Roach to discuss her entrepreneurial journey and learn more about how she built her business around her ideal lifestyle and core values. Kelly Roach is a Business Growth Coach who helps Entrepreneurs and Business Owners start and scale their businesses so they can create true lifestyle freedom. She’s a former NFL Cheerleader, a mom and wife who honed her coaching skills by handling hundreds of millions in assets and managing dozens of teams at once across multiple locations. In her corporate career, she engineered record-breaking turnarounds for companies and mentored departments of Fortune 500 companies to break every single sales record. Her goal is to help her clients meet their true potential and live out their dreams by building profitable businesses that enhance every aspect of their lives.

When Kelly graduated college, her dream was to a corporate executive high level position in a global organization. She started in an entry level position right out of school with a Fortune 500 company, and after 10 years and 8 promotions, became the youngest Senior VP of the company. When she began thinking about what she wanted her actual day-to-day to look like, she realized that in order to build a life based on her core values of financial abundance, freedom, and making a difference, she would need to create a business that works for her, instead of the other way around.

Listen to my interview with Kelly to learn:

  • The core values around which Kelly created a thriving, successful business

  • Why she focuses on Legacy Leadership in her work

  • The importance of patience and vision for entrepreneurial success

  • How Kelly has built her business around her family’s lifestyle dreams

LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST EPISODE:

Summer can throw a monkey wrench in business momentum as time gets allocated to family vacations, entertaining small children, pop-up playdates and sitting in the sunshine (is that wishful thinking? LOL).

We have a month left until the kiddos go back to school and our schedules get back in order.

I don’t want you to have to wait until September to feel the business momentum pick back up, but I also don’t want you to sacrifice your limited summer days, either.

So here’s my solution...

I am here with some of my favorite resources and tools to support you in taking the time off that you desire and deserve during this final month of summer while not letting your business grid to a screeching halt.

Enter my Six-Figures Made Simple™ Rolodex just for you :-)

Pick one category where you could use a little extra support, organization or automation, and explore a resource that could support you! Sure, you may have to invest a few bucks or upgrade to the paid version of something instead of trying to get by with the free version, but it’s totally worth it!

Successful business owners invest in time and energy saving efficiencies. They don’t try to patchwork their business together with partial solutions that ultimately prove to be more aggravating than helpful.

If you want to step into the next level of your business, you need to start acting like the next level version of yourself. And my guess is that that woman invests in stuff that saves her time and energy...and ultimately makes her a hell of a lot more money $$$.

Happy Summer! Here’s to working less and making more :-)

Authentic Branding with Viktoria Harrison

The 3-Day Workweek Podcast with Cailen Ascher - 2019-07-03 - You Are Enough with Heather Chauvin.jpg

LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST EPISODE:

I am so excited to bring you this week’s interview with branding expert Viktoria Harrison. Viktoria helps purpose-driven entrepreneurs build authentic and successful brands that deeply reflect who they are. She’s the founder of “The Branded Startup”, co-founder of Charity: Water with her husband, Scott Harrison, and mother to two small kiddos.

With no experience in business, Viktoria and her husband used their intuition to make decisions in the early phases of their startup, often breaking a lot of the rules that are standard in the non-profit world. After the birth of her second child, Viktoria realized she wanted more time freedom and decided to leave the charity. However, she soon found that she was being called for bigger work -- which evolved into helping other companies create authentic brands.

As Viktoria tells us, branding is not just fonts and colors. This episode is full of valuable advice on how to define your brand platform, hone in on your brand story, and craft an authentic brand and experience that truly helps your clients.

Listen to this week’s episode to learn:

  • How Viktoria moved from co-founding a charity with her husband into running her own business

  • The 5 essential things you need for a successful brand platform

  • Why Viktoria loves Enneagram and how you can use it to develop your brand.

  • The importance of knowing yourself + tools to help

As you listen to this week’s episode, Viktoria and I would love to hear your takeaways. Post a screenshot of this episode to your Instagram Stories and tag me (@Cailen_Ascher) and Viktoria (@vikharrison)!

What my first 6-figure year looked like…

The 3-Day Workweek Podcast with Cailen Ascher - 2019-06-26 - What I Learned from Marie Forleo.jpg

I always find transparency super helpful and inspiring, so I’m here today with a look INSIDE the first 6-figure year in my business.

Below you’ll find a month-by-month breakdown of exactly what I was offering, how much of it I sold and how much revenue was generated.

My hope is that you’ll see that you DON’T need to have a ton of different offers or enroll 100s of clients in order to cross the 6-figure mark in sales. You really can make 6-figures working with a handful of clients just 3 days a week.

The year was 2016, and I was dreaming of 6-figures (even though the previous year I had made under $25,000 in my business). But, I was armed with a plan thanks to a hefty investment in my first high-end business coach. I was feeling primed and ready to make this business work!

Here’s how things played out that year…

January 2016

Ran 5-day free “Mindset Reset Challenge” to warm people up

Started having consultation calls with prospective clients

February 2016

Launched coaching

Enrolled 8 clients for 5 month package -- $32,000 in sales

March 2016

I invested in a group program with a visibility coach ($2000 investment)

April 2016

Created my own small group program, Business Clarity Accelerator

Enrolled 6 women -- $10,000 in sales

May 2016

I attended high-level one-day mastermind in NYC with a top business coach ($3000 investment)

July 2016

Found out I was pregnant with baby #2 (due March 2017)

September 2016

Launched the same small group program again

Enrolled 6 women -- $10,000 in sales

October 2016

Launched coaching again

Raised price, cut coaching package length from 5 months down to 4 months

Enrolled 9 clients -- $54,000 in sales

November 2016

Crossed 6-figure mark in sales!!! ($106,000 to be exact!)

December 2016

Mapped out plan to re-launch group program in January 2017

As you can see, that year I worked with just 17 private clients and had 12 women in my small group program. And, the number was actually even less than that because some of my 1x1 re-upped their contracts with me and some of the group members turned into 1x1 clients.

In total it took about 24 clients for me to reach the 6-figure level in my business. (While working just 3 DAYS A WEEK!!!)

That’s, on average, just 2 clients a month! You can totally do that, right?! You can definitely find and connect with 2 people a month who would benefit from the work you do. I know that you can.

I think that sometimes we don’t hit the “big numbers” because we’re scared to look at them. We’re scared of what it will take or the sacrifice we’ll have to make, but the truth is when you break it down and map out a plan, it’s not nearly as big and scary as we’re making it out to be.

For me, having the plan in hand that my coach and I mapped out was endlessly helpful to helping me stay on course and hit my 6-figure goal. And, as you can see on the timeline above, I was continually investing in myself and my business all throughout 2016 to ensure that my 6-figure goal would become a reality.

There’s no “one way” to reach 6-figures, but there is a simple way. And that way includes focusing on serving a handful of ideal clients through high-touch, high-tickets offers. That’s what I did and what I continue to do, and my business and revenue have increased every single year since. Plus, this approach enables you to maximize your limited, precious time so you can work flexible, feel-good hours and still reach your big, audacious goals <3

If you’re ready to get your 6-figure plan in place, I would love to offer my guidance + support and teach you my Six-Figures Made Simple™ Framework

You can book a free call with me here, and we’ll see if we’re a good fit to work together.

So, what’s your next move?

I hope that you’re feeling inspired to say YES! to your dreams, and that we’ll be speaking very soon :-)

You Are Enough with Heather Chauvin

The 3-Day Workweek Podcast with Cailen Ascher - 2019-07-03 - You Are Enough with Heather Chauvin.jpg

LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST EPISODE:

Today on the show we have my very good friend, Heather Chauvin. Heather is the creator of the Mom Is In Control Podcast, a mostly solo show where she tells it like it is. She reveals her most vulnerable truths about womanhood, parenting her 3 boys, living through Stage 4 cancer, navigating marriage and creating business success without burning out. On her podcast and through her work, she challenges women to give themselves permission to live more, drop the guilt and ask for what they need.

Heather has been featured on The Huffington Post, The OWN Network, CTV, and interviewed by many notable podcasters and radio shows. Her motto is in order to raise happy, calm and confident children, we must become the person we most desire them to be.

Drawing from her experience as a social worker and a mother of three young boys, Heather noticed a disturbing trend: the labeling of children based on their “problem” without addressing the deeper rooted issues. She quickly found that the best way to encourage growth and change in her children was to lead by example. After being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, Heather took these lessons to heart and focused on the activities that made her feel most alive.

Tune in to this week’s episode to learn

  • The importance of building your business from a place of abundance

  • How to align yourself for success

  • Why there is no true “quick fix” when it comes to building a sustainable business

  • Heather’s tips for setting up not only yourself, but your family, for success.

As you listen to this week’s episode, Heather and I would love to hear your takeaways. Post a screenshot of this episode to your Instagram Stories and tag me (@Cailen_Ascher) and Heather (@momisincontrol)!
