LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST EPISODE:
Something that is becoming all the more obvious to me as I continue to expand my business and reach for bigger and bigger milestones is the unbelievable importance of finding your tribe.
I have to admit, I’m blessed with a husband who supports me unconditionally, parents who always told me that I could be or do anything I put my mind to and a sister who is also entrepreneurial. I rested on my family as my single source of support for a long time. Too long.
It was unfair to them to assume that I could get all the advice, support, guidance, pep talks and love I needed to scale my business to the level I envisioned.
A few years ago, I started to get a nudge that I needed to connect with more women who were doing what I was doing -- who would understand the ups and downs. Since planting that seed, my network (and business!) has grown in unimaginable ways.
I’ve met top authors, speakers, podcasters and coaches. I’ve connected and worked with 7-figure business owners, high-level coaches and top consultants. And, I’ve had beautiful opportunities like speaking gigs, free tickets to events, new clients, complimentary coaching, mentorship and important intros handed to me all because I put intention behind finding my tribe.
Finding your tribe isn’t the only thing you need to do to build a successful business, but it’s a vital and necessary step...especially when you’re ready to uplevel from a solopreneur to an abundant business owner and scale your impact and income to new heights.
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying that you’re the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. So if those 5 people include your kids, dog and Facebook “friends” (and you’re wondering why your energy and time feel maxed out and your income has stalled), it may be as simple as surrounding yourself with some new, fresh, high-level, replenishing energy!
Here are my top tips for finding your tribe…
Stop waiting! Stop putting this on the back burner or thinking you’ll start connecting with high-level women when you have the time or when you’re “more successful”. Stop waiting for permission and just do it.
Get in the habit of reaching out. If introducing yourself online or in-person feels awkward (especially to someone you admire), I totally get it. I used to feel the same way and cringe when someone would ask “what do you do?”. But, outreach is a muscle and the more you use it the stronger and more adept it will become.
Go out and find it -- or create it! Don’t wait for your sisterhood, biz best friends or soul tribe to find you. It’s your job to find them! Or, if you can’t find them, create a space where you can all connect like a monthly coffee meet-up or Facebook Group.
If you want it, others do too! Remember, if you’re craving connection that means other women are too! So don’t stop yourself from reaching out because in all likelihood the woman you’re reaching out to will be so glad that you did.
Surround yourself with high-vibe people. Energy is contagious. Make sure you’re curating or joining a group that is as high-vibe as you desire to be!
