LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST EPISODE:

I always find it really useful when people share the routines that support them in creating the lives and businesses they want.

So...I thought it could be fun (and hopefully helpful, too!) to share my daily routine that sets me up for success. You know that I love me a good schedule :-)

For me, I find that structure gives me freedom. The more healthy boundaries I place around my time and the more regular my routine, the more my energy, creativity and income expand!

If we’re constantly rushing from one thing to the next, not giving ourselves the time we need to replenish, it’s a recipe for stress, anxiety and burnout.

On the other hand, if you set yourself up for success with a solid daily routine, you eliminate much of the decision fatigue and over-scheduling that result from not having a plan.

Alrighty, now that we’ve covered how important it is to have a nourishing daily routine,

here’s a glimpse at what works for me:

5:30 am

  • Rise + shine!

  • Meditate for 15-20min

  • Yoga for 15-20min

6:30 am

  • Morning jog outside

7:00 am

  • Girls are up!

  • Breakfast for girls + family time

  • Pack lunches

8:00 am

  • Girls to school

  • Breakfast for me :-)

9:00 am

  • Work day begins

  • Morning time is dedicated to creative projects (like writing, big-picture planning, etc.)

1:00 pm

  • Lunch break

  • 10min walk outside

  • 15min meditation or Yoga Nidra

2:00 pm

  • Calls (group trainings or client calls)

4:30pm

  • Work day wraps up

  • Play with girls

5:00 pm

  • Cook dinner

6:00 pm

  • Eat dinner

  • Girls to bed

7:00 pm

  • Watch a show with Craig

8:30 pm

  • Up to bedroom to get ready for sleep

  • Read + maybe journal

9:30 pm

  • Lights out

Something that works well for me is sprinkling me-time throughout the day. If this is new to you, at the very least consider “bookending” your day with self-care. For me that looks like meditation + yoga in the morning and reading in the evening.

I also do a little midday pick-me-up by going for a walk outside and then doing a short meditation or Yoga Nidra.

A big part of creating a routine that sets you up for success is knowing yourself -- your needs, your energy, your likes (and dislikes). What works for me may not work for you, but I do hope that seeing my daily routine inspires you to explore creating one that works for YOU.
